oh no!!!!!!!!!! not another project

On every corner there is another project just waiting for me with a huge tempting seductive smile. Thats all I will say about this one ( because I don't trust the art thieves out there) I will shoot this project in the winter for reasons only I know (and you will too soon) I shot this yesterday on the way back from somewhere I cant really remember.A old lady yelled at me , thinking I was taking her photo.I had to show her all my frames on the little monitor before she let me go. Thats a funny term isn't it 'taking a photo' Real photographers (whatever that means) always say 'making a photo'...Give me a break...
A lot of cultures really feel you are taking something away from them when you 'take' a photo...
O.K. back to work. All work and no play makes Philip a very very boring boy.......

yawn. you are boring. great image though.

I have a difficult time capturing people on film--I think I've always felt like I was taking something of them--or maybe fearful that I wasn't representing them as they should be. That said--if I captured the life in their eyes--I knew I did the person justice.

I took images of coal mining families once--in Eastern Ohio. None of those people had life in their eyes--none. It was sad and amazing.

hello kim..I love to take photos of people but I always have the need to direct them......

rather than just let them "be"?

So then you are taking you--not them, I suppose.

it depends....posed shots are different...but dead people in an earthquake...I would let them be...

It might be true........I know a photographer (a bad one) who went to the mexican earthquake and shot photos...she took lights and a reflector to get good well light shots of the dead people.

There will always be 'another project'...when there isn't...well then that is when you will have expired...

There is so much in the eyes...I agree.

PS...never mind the 'art thieves'...you are you. You see something and take it further...you always have.
